I'm an Australian writer and I have just started my second full-length manuscript. It's a story of loss and rebuilding as my main protagonist seeks to find herself again. This comes hot on the heels of the completion, editing and general whipping into shape of my first manuscript, a fictional piece about a first time mother and her husband who is a fly-in, fly-out mine worker. It is now wending its way into publishing houses and looking for a home - please join me in wishing it well on the journey!
I have wanted to write ever since I was a little girl. As with most would-be writers, I have had just about every other job that exists: graphic design, photographer, journalist, communications and marketing, grant writing, accounts and office administration, ice cream shop attendant, cleaner, farm worker, nanny, baker and more.
Now 40, I have hit that golden age where many women writers find the space to commit to novel-writing - a young family, one child still at home, random hours and pockets of time into which I am pouring my words, both big and small. I enjoy blogging about the 'process' and invite you to join me as I march towards the next step, continuing to write and seeking publication for my completed manuscript.
